Make A Difference
Mission and Ministry 2007
Feeding the hungry program in partnership with Orange United Methodist Church, Orange, NewJersey.
Every third Saturday of the month a group of people from Livingston UMC leave for Orange UMC, Orange, NJ at 11am in the morning. They help out in packaging and distributing the freshly prepared food at Orange Park, Newark Penn Station and Main Street in Orange. The Ladies of the Orange UMC prepare the food unders the leadership of Ms. Audrey. This program feeds about 350 poor and needy people on the streets. This partnership brings out our connectional nature as United Methodist churches helping each other and doing God's work together. The people who have volunteered for this program are touched and moved by the connection that they develop with the poor and needy. It is a life changing and transforming experience. It is an rewarding chance to exhale your faith by providing service to the marginalized in our society. You can be a part of this great work by donating funds to the Livingston UMC which then can be directed towards the Orange UMC for the supplies. You can also be a part by volunteering your services to package and distribute the food at the different locations.
You are important! You can Make a Difference!
Mission
In May and June 2007 our mission was sending 40 knitted sweaters to guidepost to be distributed to poor and needy children all over the world. This wonderful mission project was done with the help of Priscilla Circle of the Livingston UMC. This mission project will keep little hearts warm in the cold winter months. Priscilla Circle is a group of women from Livingston UMC and beyond who are dedicated in making a difference in the name of Christ. If you have knitting skills and if you are willing to participate your contribution will certainly be most appreciated. Please call the church office for further information.
