Youth

Livingston United Methodist Church has a purpose driven youth ministry that reflects the purposes that were commanded by Jesus. We want the youth to experience the power of God that will transform their lives according to God's purposes. The youth are a part of the worship experience and show leadership and passion. We nurture and guide them in discipleship and ministry through different programs. They participate in many mission activites and collecting funds for different projects.

They help out at the soup kitchen program at Orange church that feeds 350 poor people.

May 12th 2007 the youth went on White Water Rafting on Leigh River in PA. It was a great exciting outing for the youth.

Confirmation

On June 10th 2007, 4 youth were confirmed at the church. For past 4 months they have been regularly attending the confirmation class with their mentors after church. Alan Chorun is the youth leader who oversees the program with the help of the pastor and Hillary Johnson. The June 10th worship service was entirely planned and conducted by the youth and children.

Ocean City Senior High Youth Weekend 2007

Dear Pastor or Youth Counselor:

Enclosed is the registration information for the GNJAC 2007 Youth Weekend being held September 7-9 in Ocean City, New Jersey.  If the entire weekend is not possible, please try to bring your group for Saturday (the cost of registration is the same).  Medical Release forms are NOT to be returned - they are for your group's use ONLY.

We have an action-filled, faith developing, spirit-moving weekend planned for all that attend. Everyone will learn and grow in their faith through our Scriptural theme of Hebrews 11:3. Friday evening your group will be thrown into a sense of wonder and awe with the illusionist Jared Hall. Saturday morning your group will experience a series of workshops and devotions led by our talented and skilled workshop leaders for youth, youth leaders and young adults. Saturday evening we will be challenged in our faith by Duffy Robins. Throughout the weekend Chris Heckert and Friends will once again be our house band.

The weekend will conclude with our traditional Sunday morning worship at the Music Pier led by the Conference Youth and Young Adults Ministry Team and Bishop Devadhar.

Who can attend?
All HIGH SCHOOL youth, Grades 9 - 12, are invited. Each group must be accompanied by at least 2 Adult Counselors.  For the safety of everyone, no group should have only 1 Adult.  Gender issues are the responsibility of the local church group, not the Greater NJ Conference.

What's the cost?
The registration cost is $25.00 before July 1, 2007, which includes a T-shirt for each person registered.  Please note FOOD and HOUSING IS NOT PROVIDED. Registrations after July 1st are $30 per person.  All registrations and fees must be received at the Conference Office by September 1, 2007. On-site registration cost will be $35 per person. In order to be guaranteed t-shirt size and quantities registrations must be submitted by August 1, 2007!
