Parenting is tough, and while we have many advantages over our parents before us, we also face new challenges.
For one, the segmentation of our youth by the advertising industry has given us multiple generations (Gen X, Gen Y, etc) in the span of one physical generation.
Grandparents, who are three physical generation from their grandkids may be five or six cultural generations.
Technology is also creating this sense of distance, even while it allows us to know where our kids are, and message them at any time. (Getting them to respond can be another matter all together.)
Every parent also has parents, and as believers, we have a Heavenly Father too.
No matter what lesson I’m learning in my relationship with God, he is asking me to apply it to my relationship with my kids.
